Karisma to promote Kinetic Zing

Fakir Chand in Bangalore | April 11, 2003 19:45 IST

With the summer holidays getting underway, the Pune-based Kinetic Engineering has roped in Bollywood's hot star Karisma Kapoor to promote its Zing scooter eyeing the young and trendy.

The company's sales pitch is titled 'Zing with Me', and will be promoted across the country through a media campaign till May-end.

"The promotion will enable participants to not only meet and interact with Karisma, but also get an opportunity to watch a movie show with her," company sources told rediff.com in Bangalore on Friday.

Commenting on the celebrity association, Kinetic joint managing director Sulajja Firodia Motwani said research showed that Karisma was 'cool' and popular among the young.

"These  are  also the attributes of Zing and I think Karisma fits the bill. We have an interactive contest where everyone who participates wins either a dinner or a movie with Karisma," Motwani stated.

The small scooter carries the trademark of comfort and convenience for which Kinetic models are known.

Zing features a 65cc peppy engine and is fuel-efficient with a mileage of over 55km per liter.

Overdrive magazine has hailed Zing as 'a compelling offering for students and housewives, looking for a stylish and sturdy runabout'.

Priced at Rs 25,000, the perky scooter offers a cost advantage over its rival competitors -- Bajaj Auto, TVS and Hero Puch.

It may be recalled that the company already has cricket legend Kapil Dev for promoting its mobike Boss.
