Maran continues to remain critical

The condition of Union Commerce Minister Murasoli Maran, undergoing treatment for heart and other problems in the corporate Apollo Hospitals for nearly one month, "continues to be serious," according to hospital sources.

"There is no change in his condition and it had neither deteriorated nor improved," the sources said.

The hospital did not issue any bulletin on the health condition of the minister on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, AICC secretary Ramesh Chennithala, accompanied by TNCC President S Balakrishnan and its working president E V K S Elangovan visited the hospital and enquired about Maran's health.

They told her that Congress President Sonia Gandhi had instructed them to visit Maran, adding that she was praying for his speedy recovery.
