Bhiwandi man is first Super Lotto crorepati

The fourth draw of Sikkim Super Lotto, held on Thursday night, saw the first-ever jackpot of Rs 20 million (Rs 2 crore) being won by a player who bought his ticket from Pradeep Communications, Bhiwandi, Maharashtra.

This lucky winner bought two tickets through the Lucky Pick option on April 15. One of these tickets turned out to be the jackpot-winning one.

The six lucky numbers were 07, 09, 10, 18, 19 and 49. The draw had huge expectations with excitement and hope rising every week.

The draw result was telecast from Gangtok, Sikkim on the brand new game show Khelo Number Khelo which premiered on Zee TV last week at 9 p.m.

Besides the jackpot winner, the draw also had 139 people with match: five numbers winning Rs 37,931 each, 7,707 players winning Rs 356 each for matching four numbers, and 1,25,682 players winning Rs 50 each for matching three numbers.

The total payout this week has been Rs 340 million (Rs 3.4 crore). Last week also, Playwin had given out Rs 61.5 million (Rs 6.15 crore) as prize money to winners, with 139 people winning close to Rs 400,000 each.

Sanjay Das, CEO, Playwin Infravest said, "My heartiest congratulations to the winners, and especially to the jackpot winner! I have only one message -Khelo India Khelo. Our objective is to change fortunes of as many Indians as we can through this game."

Ever since the launch on March 5, 2002, Sikkim Super Lotto has generated phenomenal interest among the people of 14 lottery-playing states in the country.

Over 19 million tickets had been sold till the last draw and long queues of people wanting to turn around their fortunes have been seen at several outlets even now. The draw itself generated an overwhelming response, with millions of viewers glued to their television sets watching the draw results.

The next draw would be held on Thursday, April 25, and the results announced on Khelo Number Khelo on Zee TV between 9-9:30 p.m. with the jackpot being Rs 20 million (Rs 2 crore).
