Maruti, Fiat, TVS slash prices across the boardBS Corporate Bureau Maruti Udyog Ltd (MUL) has slashed the price of its bread-and-butter car, Maruti 800 Standard, by Rs 12,072 owing to the 8 per cent cut in excise duty. The car now costs Rs 2,06,117. Maruti 800 deluxe is now Rs 14,893 cheaper at Rs 2,54,446, while Omni five-seater van now costs Rs 2,17,256 (as against the earlier Rs 2,30,000). The price of Alto LX has been revised to Rs 2,90,150 (earlier price Rs 3,07,159) making it Rs 17,009 cheaper. Zen LX price has been cut by Rs 19,224 to Rs 3,28,653 (earlier price Rs 3,47,877). Wagon R LX now costs Rs 3,25,891 (earlier price Rs 3,44,946), while Esteem LX is less Rs 27,490 at Rs 4,79,553. Baleno Sedan now costs Rs 7,19,444 (earlier price Rs 7,61,545) after affecting a Rs 42,101 price cut. All prices are ex-showroom, New Delhi. Fiat India has slashed prices of Uno and Siena. The price cuts are in the range of Rs 18,000 and Rs 45,000. Prices of Uno's petrol versions have been reduced by 18,000. Uno EL, Uno EL AC and Uno ELX AC now costs Rs 3,13984, Rs 3,45,623 and Rs 3,63,858, respectively. Uno's diesel variants' prices have been cut by Rs 20,000. Uno DS EL non-AC, Uno DS EL AC and Uno DS ELX AC PS (with power steering) now cost Rs 3,59,916, Rs 3,91,494 and Rs 4,36,526, respectively. Prices of most Siena petrol variants have been slashed by Rs 30,000, and Siena's diesel variants will now be available Rs 35,000 cheaper. The price of Siena Weekend petrol as been reduced by Rs 40,000. Siena Weekend ELX AC PS and Siena Weekend ELX AC PS Pack 2 now cost Rs 7,09,852 and Rs 7,79,042, respectively. Siena Weekend Diesel EL AC PS model is now cheaper by Rs 40,000 and costs Rs 7,71,733, while Siena Weekend DS ELX AC PS Pack 2 now costs Rs 45,000 lesser at Rs 8,35,924. Meanwhile, two-wheeler manufacturer TVS-Suzuki has announced a Rs 2000 to Rs 3475 reduction in its motorcycle prices. It has also slashed scooter prices by up to Rs 2000. The Kinetic group of companies has also slashed the prices of its scooters and motorcycles. Prices of various models, including the new Kinetic Challenger, Kinetic AX, DX, ZX and new Kinetic Marvel have been reduced by Rs 1200 to Rs 2000, depending on the excise benefit received, a company release said.
