Save Your Messages In Your Google Account

WhatsApp suggests saving your messages to your Google account before it stops working on older phones. This will help you move all your chats easily to a new phone. Just open WhatsApp, go to Settings, select Chats, then tap on Chat Backup and follow the steps shown. Doing this will make changing to a new phone much easier.

Get A New Phone Or Switch To Other Apps

The best way to keep using WhatsApp is to get a device that runs iOS 15.1 or Android 5.1 or above. If you're keeping your old phone, you can use apps like Telegram or Signal instead.

Why Is WhatsApp Doing This?

The big reason for this move is safety. Apple has stopped giving updates for these older iOS versions, which makes the phones more open to online threats. Without regular fixes, users are at a higher risk of hacking. That’s why WhatsApp is encouraging people to switch to newer phones and updated systems.
