Dadpe Pohe: 10-Min Recipe

Manisha Deshpande Kotian presents the recipe for one of the quickest poha dishes to rustle up -- Dadpe Pohe, a good breakfast or anytime snack.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup poha or flattened rice, thicker variety preferably
  • 2-3 tbsp freshly-grated coconut
  • 1-2 green chillies, finely chopped

  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 2 tbsp finely chopped green dhania or coriander leaves or cilantro
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice or to taste

  • ½ tsp sugar, optional
  • Salt to taste, about 1 tsp
  • Handful roasted peanuts

Method

  • Rinse the poha quickly in a strainer under running water for a few seconds.
    Let it drain completely.

  • In a large bowl, add the moistened poha with the grated coconut, chopped onions, green chillies, coriander leaves, lemon juice, sugar, roasted peanuts, salt.
    Mix well.

  • Cover and let it rest for 10-15 minutes for the flavours to blend.
  • Serve at room temperature; Serves 3-4

Tips:
You can garnish with a little sev for extra crunch.
You may consider adding a dash of haldi or turmeric powder while mixing the damp poha with the salt, sugar.
