My date with leopards and tuskers
Our trip to the Nagarhole National Park started from Bangalore at 2 am thanks to our friend Bhaskar. We picked up the others from office and by 7.30 am we had arrived at the Kallahalla range forest rest house near Nagarhole.

Airfare for Rs 100 and less!

The guesthouse is largely a wooden construction, and very well maintained by the forest department. It was built in 1928 by the British and stands majestic to this day, with a wonderful view of a large lake. The lake, we were told, is a favourite haunt with the elephants during the hot summer months.

After a quick breakfast we decided to explore the picturesque lake. One end of the lake went deep into the jungle. As we stood absorbing the beauty of the lake, we heard a roar -- a tiger roar. It was from the other side of the lake, which was quite far away. We decided to go further up the lake.
