The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) is inviting applications from young aspirants for its Gen Z Fellowship Programme 2026.
The 12-month fellowship offers young graduates an opportunity to gain first-hand experience in civic administration and contribute to initiatives related to Mumbai's development.
As many as 50 candidates will be selected for the fellowship programme; they will receive a stipend of Rs 61,500.
The BMC Gen Z Fellowship Programme is designed to give young people exposure as to how civic administration functions.
Selected fellows will get opportunities to:
- Understand how the BMC functions
- Interact with policymakers
- Gain exposure to education, leadership and innovation
- Develop communication, leadership and administrative skills
- Contribute to initiatives that could help shape Mumbai's future
- Receive a certificate after successfully completing the fellowship
An application fee of Rs 500 is applicable.
Who can apply?
To be eligible for the BMC Gen Z Fellowship Programme 2026, candidates must:
- Be graduates in any discipline
- Be below 28 years of age
- Be able to read, write and speak Marathi
- Have adequate knowledge of Hindi and English
- Have basic knowledge of computer operations and the internet
