The Indian Institute of Technology Guwahati (IIT-G) has released the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE 2026) admit card on its official website.
What is GATE 2026?
The Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering is a national-level entrance exam, jointly organised by the Indian Institute of Science (IISc) and the IITs on behalf of the National Coordination Board (NCB), department of higher education and the ministry of education, that tests aspirants about their knowledge in engineering, science and related areas.
GATE scores are essential for admission to postgraduate programmes such as master of technology, master of engineering and doctor of philosophy at leading institutions including the Indian Institutes of Technology, National Institutes of Technology, the Indian Institute of Science and several other reputed institutes across India.
In addition to higher education, GATE 2026 scores are also widely used for public sector undertaking recruitment. Several major public sector companies consider GATE scores for shortlisting candidates, including the National Thermal Power Corporation (NTPC), Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL), Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL) and other leading government-owned enterprises.

How to download the GATE 2026 admit card
Registered and eligible candidates can download their GATE 2026 from the official website, gate2026.iitg.ac.in, using their valid login credentials.
What is the date for GATE 2026 exam?
The exam is scheduled for February 7, 8, 14, and 15.
GATE 2026 will be conducted online in two sessions daily across more than 200 cities, co-ordinated by eight zonal IITs.
The result for GATE 2026 is likely to be announced on March 19.
