Nokia reboot: 5 new phones launched at Mobile World Congress!

The resurgence of the HMD-led Nokia continued at the Mobile World Congress 2018 in Barcelona, where the company launched five new phones across segments.

The company built on its recent tradition of rebooting past classics by bringing back the Nokia 8110, which was made famous by the film Matrix.

The company also deepened its partnership with Google by joining Android One, which powers most of the new phones it announced.

While the new Nokia phones may seem steeply priced when compared to Chinese phones, it is important to note that they have been built well to keep the Nokia reputation alive.

Nokia 8110 4G

The old Nokia 8110 phone comes back to life as the Nokia 8110 4G.

The look remains the same, but runs on new innards.

Nokia 8110 4G is powered by Qualcomm 205 processor backed by 512 RAM and 4 GB ROM.

It runs on KaiOS, a smart operating system specially designed for feature phones.

Price: $97 (approximately ₹6,300)

Nokia 1

This is a pocket-friendly smart phone with respect to price as well as size.

It runs on Android 8.0 (Oreo Go) and is powered by Mediatek MT6737M.

It's coupled with 1 GB RAM and 8 GB ROM.

Price: $85 (approximately ₹5,500)

Nokia 6 2018

An upgrade to the Nokia 6, this has a premium unibody design built from a single block of aluminum 6000 series and 5.5 inch display with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection.

It comes with a 16 MP PDAF rear camera and 8MP front camera.

The Nokia 6 2018 has out of the box Android Oreo and runs on Qualcomm's snapdragon 630, backed with 3GB RAM and 32 GB ROM.

Price: $344.25 (approximately ₹22,299)

Nokia 7 Plus

The successor to the Nokia 7 has a modern look and upgraded hardware.

The phone is carved from a single block of aluminum 6000 series. It has a 6-inch full HD display with 18:9 aspect ratio.

It runs on Qualcomm's Snapdragon 660, backed with 4GB RAM and 64 GB ROM.

It boasts a dual 12/16 MP camera.

Price: $492.272 (approximately ₹31,883)

Nokia 8 Sirocco

The upgrade to the Nokia 8 has is carved from a single block of stainless steel.

It's 5.5 QHD pOLED screen is protected by 3d Corning Gorilla Glass 5.

The dual camera at the rear is 12MP with f/1.7 wide and 16 MP with f/2.6 telephoto, but the front camera has been downgraded to 5MP at 1080p resolution.

The Nokia 8 Sirocco runs on Qualcomm's snapdragon 835, backed by 6GB RAM and 128 GB ROM.

It also has out of the box Android Oreo.

Price: $924 (approximately ₹59,887)
