Massages to rejuvenate your body and mind

July 9, 2007
The stress of living a fast-paced life can take its toll on both mind and body. This is why it is important to rejuvenate your body regularly.

Taking time off about once a month to visit a spa for a massage helps relax your mind and body, while keeping fatigue and body damage at bay.

So, if you feel like de-stressing and pampering yourself, here are some massages to make you feel refreshed and re-energised.

Ayurvedic oil bath

Warm oil is known to have therapeutic qualities, and you can take in the benefits by having an oil massage. Known as Pizichin, the Quan Spa offers just such a traditional oil bath.

"This treatment is specially designed for those suffering from ailments like muscle spasms, rheumatism and stiffness of the limbs," says Dr Manauj Suvarna, recreation manager at Quan Spa of Marriott Hotels, describing the treatment. "Pizichin is an Ayurvedic treatment that relieves the body of any kind of pain or stiffness."

The 60-minute treatment includes pouring various types of medicated oil on seven different parts of the body, relaxing and rejuvenating them.
