Are you a style diva?
We launch a new series where we scope out those with a smart, quirky, funky, chic or unique sense of style. Not celebrities, models or style icons, but real people. Are you one of them?
This week's pick is Deepti Phatak, 23, an ad sales programme manager with a media company in Mumbai.
Deepti's job profile involves co-ordinating client campaigns and interacting with them over the phone daily. Once in a while, she steps out of the office to meet them in person.
What's interesting about Deepti is she doesn't splurge too much on her wardrobe or spend eons mulling over what to wear. Yet, she always manages to look smartly dressed and well groomed. How does she manage it?
For a start, she regularly oils her wavy hair with Parachute coconut oil mixed with a few drops of sweet almond oil (improves texture) and castor oil (enhances growth). She uses Elvive conditioner by L' Oreal to battle the frizz. A hair trim every five months gets rid of split ends (she would prefer one more often) and a head massage (Rs 75-100) once a month, makes her feel great.
As she has sensitive skin, she gets an Ayurvedic facial (Rs 450) once a month at a salon and uses an astringent (Lakme) every morning. An astringent clears dust from pores and tightens them, so you don't get blackheads. Deepti avoids using face wash or soap, because both products dry her skin. Finally, she applies sandalwood paste on her skin every night, because it has a cooling effect.
Next, Deepti tells us her shopping mantras.
