What: The Forest Research Institute invites applications for admission to its various Master's and post-graduate diploma programmes. 

Master's programmes

i.  MSc in Forestry

~ There are 25 seats in all.

~ You must have a Bachelor's degree in science in at least one of the following subjects:

ii. MSc in Wood Science & Technology

~ There are 25 seats in all. 

~ You must have a three-year Bachelor's degree in one of the following subjects: 

iii. MSc in Environment Management

~ There are 25 seats in all.

~ You must have a three-year Bachelor's degree in one of the following:

Or

~ You could have a BE or B Tech in Environment Science

Post-graduate diploma programmes

iPost-Graduate Diploma in Natural Resource Management

~ There are 15 seats in all. 

~ The duration of the course is one year.

~ You must have an MSc in any discipline.

ii. Post-Graduate Diploma in Management of Non Wood Forest Product

~ There are 22 seats in all.

~ The duration of the course is one year.

~ You must have an MSc in any of the following:

Exam centres

~ Dehra Dun

~ Jabalpur

~ Bangalore

~ Kolkata

~ Chandigarh

~ Delhi

~ Lucknow

~ Jodhpur

~ Shimla

~ Ranchi

~ Coimbatore 

~ Jorhat

Important dates

~ Your application must reach by April 17.

~ The entrance examination will be held on May 14.

How to apply

~ You can get the information bulletin and application form by mailing a bank draft for Rs 450 (Rs 400 for the information bulletin, Rs 50 as postage) payable at Dehradun in favour of Registrar, FRI (Deemed University), POIPE, Kaulagarh, Dehradun -- 248195.

~ You can also get the application form from the counter of the Union Bank of India [Get Quote] (FRI branch, Dehradun).

~ You can download the application form by visiting the Web site. Send the completed application form along with a demand draft of Rs 400 in favour of Registrar, FRI (Deemed University), payable at Dehradun.

Important information

~ For each of the courses mentioned above, you must have 50 per cent marks in the qualifying examination.

~ If you want to apply for two or more courses, you have to fill in separate forms for each course.
