No buyers on day two of fashion week

April 06, 2006 20:27 IST

Buyers, viewers and the media too appeared to be biased towards big names in the fashion world as day two of the Wills Lifestyle India Fashion Week began on a low note with designers showing to almost empty chairs.

Designers Neeta Bhargava and Ashish Pandey got a lukewarm response with just relatives and friends attending their show. In contrast, shows of big timers like Rohit Bal and Raghavendra Rathod, which took place last night, played to packed galleries.

National Institute of Fashion Technology alumnus Ashish Pandey's collection, Yesterday Once More, was a mix of traditional and contemporary, showcasing the Indian choli in a more chic and wearable prĂȘt form. The designer portrayed a perfect blend of the past with the present. Neeta Bhargava played wonderfully with basic colours of black and white, adding a dash of passion with red.
