President APJ Abdul Kalam: The computer education is very important field and I have seen wherever at the earlier phase of primary education, the introduction of the computers the drop out has reduced, the quality of education improved. There is a plan to introduce atleast 5th class onwards the computers from primary education and above. All efforts are progressing including the remote area. Tele-education is another possibility to reach out to remote areas.

Praveen Ravi (international school of paris, 17 yrs): dear mr president, as a student in an international school, ive tried to model the differences between the type of educations here and in India. I have realised that in India, most of our children are stuck with textbooks and the bare minimum required securing good or perhaps escellent marks on the exams. I personally find an elevation in my general knowledge after coming here. I believe that awareness of the world around us is one of the fundamental elements in shaping someone. I would like to know if general knowledge and current affairs can be more strictly imposed on the indian educations system.

President APJ Abdul Kalam: In our country, education has three layers – primary, secondary and higher education. Regarding the last two categories, our syllabus and the method of teaching can be said to be normal and certain e-education has to be embedded. I feel the primary education for children below needs a change in the curriculum so that the creativity of the children can be brought out. Teachers have to be selected keeping this concept in mind.
