#1 Choose the right straightener according your hair type –
For thin and short hair - 1” flat iron
For moderately thick hair (shoulder length) – 1 ¼” flat iron
For thick and long hair – 1 ½” flat iron
Also, make sure that you use a hair straightener with ceramic plates as it distributes the heat evenly and does hardly any damage to your hair.
#2 Don’t forget to use a hair spray
Before you start styling your hair with a straightener or a curling iron, use a heat protection spray as using it directly can cause dryness and damage. The spray makes your hair damp and acts as a shield between your hair and the iron.
#3 Set the temperature right
No matter how thick your hair is, make sure you set the heat on medium mode as excessive heat causes hair damage
#4 Want a little bend in the tip of your hair? Try this trick
Divide your hair in to 6-8 equal portions and apply a hair serum followed by a hair spray and start using the straightener on one side of the hair and hair brush on the other side to get the desired bend look.
#5 Want voluminous hair on the crown? Here is how you get it!
When you get to the crown, pin the rest of the hair. Simply hold a thick portion of the hair from the crown section and iron your hair towards the ceiling (upward direction) to get volume.
#6 Surprise! You can even curl your hair with a hair straightener. Here’s how you do it
Apply heat protection spray and create equal one inch sections. Hold one section between the two clamps of the iron and flip the flat iron away from your face so your hair strands flow over the iron. The hair should continue to wrap around the flat iron as you push it towards your ends to create the curls.
#7 Wish to crimp your hair? Here is the solution!
This iron enables you to create both straight and zigzag hair styles. It comes with interchangeable plates for straightening as well as crimping your hair. So what’s your style today?
