Light a lamp with Urmila
February 15, 2006 17:25 IST

BanarasUrmila fans, rejoice.

The actress is back and looking terrific in Pankuj Parashar's upcoming film, Banaras - A Mystic Love Story.

The Chalbaaz director has crafted a love story with a spiritual backdrop. Shot in Varanasi over 45 days, Parashar says the new film "does not fit into a genre."

The film also stars Ashmit Patel [Images], Naseeruddin Shah [Images] and Dimple Kapadia [Images]. Parashar aims to introduce a young Indian audience to the glorious wonders of the holy city.

The film's music is by Himesh Reshammiya [Images], and Banaras is scheduled to hit theatres on April 7.

Meanwhile, the film's official web site has a 'diya' feature, wherein you can make a wish and float a lamp on the Ganga, virtually.

The film's makers assure that they will, in turn, perform a real puja in your name at the Vishwanath Temple in Varanasi.

We can just pray the film is as original as that idea.
