This year, Ian McKellen (The Lord Of The Rings) looks all set to walk away with the trophy.

Though not without tough competition from Ben Kingsley (Sexy Beast) and Jon Voight (Ali).

Role: From playing the Father of the [Indian] Nation Mahatma Gandhi to a cheesy British gangster in Sexy Beast, the versatile Ben Kingsley is undoubtedly versatile.

Role: Veteran actor Ian McKellen brings to life novelist JRR Tolkien's dynamic and powerful character of the wizard Gandalf The Grey.

Role: The immensely talented Voight plays a sports reporter and boxing champ Muhammad Ali's greatest supporter Howard Cosell. To get the look right, Voight donned tons of prosthetics.
