Monsoon Wedding was shot on a tight 30-day schedule with Nair's own family actively participating in every aspect.
From the elaborate cuisine supplied on the sets by Nair’s mother to majority of the furniture, props and costumes were loaned, by family and friends.
Interestingly Nair's nephew Ishaan plays the brides brother Varun in the film.
