Footballer Vijayan plays villain

After a gentle role in his first film, football star I M Vijayan plays the role of a villain in his second.

He plays the role of Valayar Manickam, who goes to jail for killing the heroine's father, in the Malayalam film Akashathile Paravakal (Birds of Flight), directed by V M Vinu.

The film will be released in Kerala in May.

Vijayan's first film Shantham directed by Jayaraj won the Best Film National Award this year.

Akashathile Paravakal was shot in Shoranur in Thrissur district. Vijayan spent 22 days with the film crew that completed the shooting last month.
