18 % polling in Rajasthan till noon

Eighteen per cent of a total of 3.47 crore electorate had excercised its franchise for 25 Lok Sabha seats in Rajasthan till noon on Wednesday, an official spokesman said in Jaipur.

As polling picked up, Chittorgarh recorded the maximum polling of 28 per cent, followed by Ganganagar at 23 per cent, Churu 21 per cent, Jodhpur, Barmer and Alwar at 19 per cent each, Dausa 18 per cent, Banswara, Sawaimadhopur, Pali and Jhalawar at 6 per cent each, Salumber, Nagaur and Udaipur at 5 per cent each, Kota 14 per cent and Jalore 12 per cent.

The polling was peaceful in the state, sources in the state election office said.
