April 06, 2004 18:14 IST

Deputy Prime Minister Lal Kishenchand Advani's Bharat Uday Yatra will enter Bihar's Gopalganj district on Wednesday from Uttar Pradesh.

The yatra will pass through eight districts -- Gopalganj, East Champaran, Vaishali, Muzaffarpur, Patna, Jehanabad, Gaya and Nawada, according to Bharatiya Janata Party sources.

All police stations in these districts have been put on maximum alert, police sources said.

During his two-day electioneering, Advani will address 15 public meetings in the state.

Chief Secretary K A H Subramanian met state officials to review the security.

The People's War and Maoist Communist Centre have threatened to disrupt the yatra in Bihar.

The BJP, too, has prepared for Advani's security and warned Rashtriya Janata Dal chief Laloo Prasad Yadav against stopping the yatra.

Yadav had ordered Advani's arrest during the 1990 Rath Yatra to Ayodhya.
