Congress president Sonia Gandhi has nominated her as legislature party leader, Congress leader Pranab Mukherjee said in New Delhi on Wednesday.

Prior to taking the decision Gandhi, who had been authorised by the newly elected legislators to choose their leader, invited Dikshit and her detractor Delhi Pradesh Congress Committee President Chaudhary Prem Singh for a meeting.

Ahmed Patel, All India Congress Committee general secretary in-charge of Delhi and political secretary to Gandhi, was also present during the 20-minute meeting in which the Congress chief was understood to have told the two leaders to bury their differences in view of the coming Lok Sabha election.
