Tension continues at Dasad, Gujarat

Tension prevails at Dasad village in Mehsana district of Gujarat after communal trouble on Monday evening, police said.

The dead included one each from the majority and minority communities, Mehsana Superintendent of Police A K Sharma said.

People from both the communities indulged in stone pelting and fired gunshots following confusion after a dog ran around the Gogh Maharaj temple, where celebrations of a three-day festival were going on.

At least 16 people from the majority community had been taken to Unjha health centre, while six from the minority community were undergoing treatment in Mehsana hospital.
