10 per cent polling in 6 Orissa seats

Six of the total 10 Lok Sabha seats in Orissa reported more than 10 per cent polling during the first three hours while the remaining four registered less than five per cent votes.

According to a report received by the chief electoral officer in Bhubaneswar, the Kalahandi Lok Sabha seat in western Orissa reported more than 14 per cent polling followed by Keonjhar (12 per cent) and Sundargarh (10 per cent).

The Sambalpur, Phulbani and Deogarh Lok Sabha seats also reported 10 per cent polling during the first three hours.

However, the Koraput (schedule tribe) Lok Sabha seat where Orissa Chief Minister Giridhar Gamang's wife Bema Gamang is in the fray, recorded less than five per cent polling till 1000 hours.

Polling began on a very dull note in the Bolangir Lok Sabha seat with only two per cent voters turning out to cast their ballots in the first two hours.
