ULFA kidnaps BJP candidate in Assam

Suspected ULFA militants kidnapped Pannalal Oswal, BJP candidate from Assam's Dhubri constituency last night, official sources said today.

Oswal was abducted while he was proceeding to Bilasipara from Dhubri for campaigning. However, details were yet to be received, sources said.

Oswal's son Surendra said his father went to Bilasipara last evening but did not return home. They had not received any information about him. However, officials indicated that he had been kidnapped by suspected ULFA militants.

The police have launched an investigation to trace Oswal.
