Scindia poohpoohs DD's exit poll

Congress general secretary Madhavrao Scindia today doubted the authenticity of exit polls on Doordarshan and other TV channels and said the results of last year's exit polls had proved wrong for assembly elections in Madhya Pradesh.

''Those exit polls indicated that the BJP will sweep, but the Congress got an absolute majority,'' he said.

He said the Congress was the only party which had provided a stable government and even when it was in a minority it completed its full term. The Congress is having seat adjustments with other parties in Bihar and Tamil Nadu only, but the BJP had gone in for an alliance in almost all the states and mostly as ''junior partner'', he said.
