PM will build two-tier ministry

National Democratic Alliance chief Atal Bihari Vajpayee, who was today invited by President K R Narayanan to form government at the Centre, will go in for a two-tier ministry.

Vajpayee will be sworn in on October 13.

Speaking to newspersons at the Rashtrapati Bhavan after meeting the President, Vajpayee said his ministry would 'neither be small nor big'.

The country was heading for the 21st century and this posed a big challenge and the alliance was determined to face it. The NDA government was committed to implementing the second-generation economic reforms to take the country into the next millennium, he said.

Asked about the pressure for berths from supporting parties, Vajpayee said there was none.
