The 13th Lok Sabha was today constituted by the Election Commission to enable President K R Narayanan to take the initiative in the formation of a new government at the Centre after the recent parliamentary polls.

Chief Election Commissioner M S Gill and Election Commissioner J M Lyndoh called on the President and presented to him the notification with a covering letter. It was signed by Dr Gill and Lyndoh.

The notification contains the names of all the 537 elected members with their constituencies and affiliations to political parties.

Polling will be held in four constituencies in Bihar -- Purnia, Rajmahal (R), Khagaria and Baghalpur -- one in Assam (Dhubri) and a repoll in outer Manipur on October 28. Therefore, these have not been included in the notification.
