TDP-BJP alliance may sweep AP

Shireen in Hyderabad

The Telugu Desam Party-Bharatiya Janata Party alliance may sweep the assembly and Lok Sabha polls in Andhra Pradesh.

The alliance is leading in 136 of the 232-odd assembly constituencies where trends were available. The Congress is leading in 79 seats. Others are leading in 17 seats.

The BJP has won the Secunderabad seat but has lost the Hyderabad seat to the Majlis Ittehadul Muslimeen's Sultan Salahuddin Owaisi. The BJP, however, is leading in six other constituencies.

The TDP is leading in at least 25 LS seats.
