EC rejects Sharad Yadav's demand for
countermanding elections in Madhepura

The Election Commission today rejected the demand of Janata Dal (united) president Sharad Yadav for countermanding the election in Madhepura, saying that the repoll was concluded today in 16 booths and counting would commence tomorrow at 0800 hrs.

Deputy Election Commissioner Subhas Pani told reporters that the counting in all the 537 constituencies, including Madhepura, will be held as per schedule.

Asked about Yadav's demand, Chief Election Commissioner M S Gill said a repoll had been ordered wherever it was necessary.
