The place that boasts of a famous Malayalam film director, it is perhaps but natural that the Communists have been entrenched here, the CPI, and the Congress has not had much success. Breaking this trend, in the last three elections, Adoor has remained faithful to Congressman K Suresh, who the last time round actually increased his tally of votes.
