Sonia should withdraw charge against PMO: Joshi

Union Minister for Human Resources Development Dr Murli Manohar Joshi today said Congress president Sonia Gandhi should withdraw her allegations of corruption levelled against the Prime Minister's Office.

Addressing a press conference in Mysore, he said Gandhi's charges amounted to "character assassination" of Prime Minister A B Vajpayee, who had 50 years experience as a politician.

It was Vajpayee who had advocated that the office of the prime minister should be brought under the purview of the Lok Pal bill, he recalled.

Referring to the personal attacks on Gandhi, Joshi said Vajpayee had already requested the National Democratic Alliance leaders not to indulge in personal attacks and everybody should follow it.
