Jharkhand Front releases manifesto

The Jharkhand Front, a group of four Jharkhand parties, has dubbed the Bharatiya Janata Party as its 'enemy number one' holding it responsible for the non-creation of the new state.

Releasing its poll manifesto last evening, the Front pledged itself to the formation of the state and decided to 'expose' the political parties opposed to it.

The manifesto, besides promising to fight for the realisation of the age-old demand, also clarified the stance to be taken by its constituents against industrial projects in the mineral-rich region that always led to large-scale displacement of people.

The Front also advocated prohibition of liquor in the region and pledged to generate people's awareness on literacy and the rights of women and children. The manifesto also highlighted the Front's fight against communal forces.
