They may be languishing at the seventh spot in the points table but holders Kolkata Knight Riders are still optimistic of making the title clash of the Indian Premier League.

-SRK regrets getting into a brawl at Wankhede

-Play-offs still in our grasp: Kallis

-No harsh words exchanged with Dravid: Gambhir

Team co-owner Shah Rukh Khan said with win against Rajasthan Royals last night his side was back on track.

"It's better late than never. We will give our best shot. I've a strange sense of confidence that we would do it. With five more matches to go, we would manage it and play the final here," Shah Rukh said.

Recollecting a dialogue from his 1993 blockbuster Baazigar, Shah Rukh said: "Kabhi kabhi kuch jeetne ke liye kuch harna bhi padta hai aur haarkar jeetne wale ko baazigar kehte hain (Sometimes to win, something has to be lost and who wins after losing is called a gambler)."

Asked whether the struggling team need any incentive to perform better, the Bollywood star said the team was a close-knit family eager to perform.

"It will be a little unfair to say that. For last six years, we have kept the core of the team together. We have lived, breathed, seen failures and finally celebrated our success together," he said.

Shah Rukh said it was nice to see his side getting back to winning ways.

"We had a bit of a bad run, to say the least... So it's nice to be back to winning ways. I couldn't come down for all the matches, so it's nice to see your team win when you come back."

He also hailed Yusuf Pathan's coming to form as the Baroda all-rounder hit unbeaten 49 in team's win.

"Yusuf is a marvellous player... a marvellous person. All of us go through patches where things don't go too well. Let's hope from now on things will go right. I feel extremely responsible that I don't let the fans down. So we will try harder. As you know, I can't do much, but the team is doing its best, we are playing well."

In a lighter vein, Shah Rukh said his and his daughter's presence also did a bit in his side's win on Friday night.

"My daughter and me, we are a lucky combination. When nothing else works, you have to try these things. But it was nice and heartening to see the team coming together and win."
