India elect to bat in third Test

India captain Anil Kumble won the toss and opted to bat in the third and final Test against Sri Lanka in Colombo on Friday.

Both teams made one change from the second Test in Galle where India levelled the series 1-1 with a 170-run victory.

Sri Lanka called up uncapped pace bowler Dammika Prasad in place of Nuwan Kulasekera.

India replaced wicketkeeper Dinesh Karthik with Parthiv Patel.

Sri Lanka: Mahela Jayawardene (captain), Michael Vandort, Malinda Warnapura, Kumar Sangakkara, Thilan Samaraweera, Tillakaratne Dilshan, Prasanna Jayawardene (w/k), Chaminda Vaas, Muttiah Muralitharan, Ajantha Mendis, Dammika Prasad
