Legendary Australian cricketer Shane Warne and British actress Elizabeth Hurley have called it quits.
But it seems Warne is not over her yet.
In a Twitter feed, the Aussie wrote, “Some of the reports about Elizabeth Hurley and me are absolute rubbish. Yes we're sorting through some (private) issues. But we're not throwing the towel in yet.”
The two were one of the more unlikely celebrity pairings but their romance was always abuzz with activity.
The 48-year-old model-actress Hurley has ditched the engagement ring which she proudly wore for almost two years. And on Warne’s part, the lovey-dovey messages stopped on social media.
Hurley all but confirmed her split in a heart-breaking tweet.
The 48-year-old model apologised to her Twitter followers on Wednesday for her lack of updates due to recent events being 'too raw and personal' to share, the Mirror reported.
The couple, who announced the end of their previous relationships and their engagement to each other on the social network, have not tweeted each other for nearly three weeks.
It was in late 2010 when the public first became aware of the alliance after the couple were caught snogging outside a London hotel. Since then the courtship was very much public.
Earlier, Warne was hell bent on turning Hurley into a sports enthusiast. First with cricket lessons, and then poker.
The leg-spinner who was inducted into the International Cricket Council Hall of Fame during the Ashes series is also a professional poker player.
