Day two of the second Test proved a good one for England after captain Alastair Cook and Kevin Pietersen put up a gritty performance to take their team to 178 for two at stumps.

Pietersen now records 3000 runs away from home
# Kevin Pietersen's superb unbeaten 62 off 85 balls is his fifth fifty against India -- his 28th in Tests. The said knock is his third fifty apart from a hundred in India in Tests.
