Statistical highlights of the first day's play between India and Sri Lanka [Images] in the second cricket Test in Galle on Thursday.

# When he scored his first run, Rahul Dravid [Images] (10,124 in 124 Tests) overtook Sunil Gavaskar's [Images] tally of 10,122 in 125 Tests.

# In terms of run-aggregate, Dravid is now the fifth in Test cricket.

# Sourav Ganguly's [Images] 12th duck in Test Cricket is his second against Sri Lanka.

# Ganguly has now recorded three ducks in 2008.

# In eight Tests this year, Ganguly has aggregated 390 runs at an average of 30.00, with only four fifties.

# Sehwag's 15th Test century - his first against Sri Lanka - is his eighth on foreign soil.

# Gautam Gambhir [Images] (56) recorded his highest score against Sri Lanka, eclipsing his 43 off 90 balls at Colombo (SSC) in 2008.

# Gambhir posted his fourth fifty in Tests.

# Sehwag and Gambhir had put on 167, India's highest for the first wicket at Galle, eclipsing the 79 between Shiv Sunder Das and Sadagoppan Ramesh in 2001-02.

# The runs made by India's opening pair are the most by any pair in the first session of a Test match at Galle International Stadium.

# The aforesaid stand is now the highest by any pair against Sri Lanka for the first wicket at Galle. Stuart Carlisle and Trevor Gripper had put on 153 for Zimbabwe against Sri Lanka in 2001-02.

# The 167-run stand is the second best for the first wicket for India against Sri Lanka in Test Cricket, next only to the 171 between Manoj Prabhakar and Navjot Singh Sidhu at Colombo, SSC in 1993-94.
