The Irani Cup tie between Ranji Trophy champions Delhi [Images] and the Rest of India has been advanced by a week and would be played between September 24 and 28 at Vadodara, the Cricket Board said on Wednesday.

"The match will feature all the probables for the forthcoming Test series against Australia [Images]," said BCCI Secretary Niranjan Shah in a media release in New Delhi.

The original dates for the season-opening fixture were October 1-5.

The Australians are set to arrive in the country on September 29 to play four Tests between October 9 and November 10.

The Test matches are to be held at Bangalore, after the Aussies play a four-day warm-up tie from October 2 to 5, Mohali, Delhi and Nagpur.
