Statistical highlights at the end of third day's play in the third and final cricket Test between India and Sri Lanka [Images] in Colombia on Sunday.
# With two centuries in a row at at P.Saravanamuttu Stadium, Colombo, Kumar Sangakkara has averaged 90.66 at this venue - 544 runs in seven innings, including two hundreds and two fifties.
# Sangakkara and Prasanna Jayawardene put on 80 runs - Sri Lanka's best partnership for the seventh wicket in Test Cricket at P Saravanamuttu Stadium, Colombo, bettering the 70 between Hashan Tillakaratne and Kumar Dharmasena against New Zealand [Images] in 2002-03.
# Prasanna Jayawardene (49) posted his highest score against India, eclipsing his 30 in the first Test of the present series at Colombo, SSC.
# Virender Sehwag's [Images] aggregate of 344 at an average of 68.80 is a record by an Indian batsman in a Test series against Sri Lanka in Sri Lanka.
# Sehwag's aggregate is now the third best by an Indian batsman in a Test series against Sri Lanka. Sourav Ganguly [Images] had amassed 392 (ave.98.00) in the three-Test series in India in 1997-98 and Dilip Vengsarkar had made 376 at an averagte of 125.33 in the three-Test series in India in 1986-87.
# Sehwag, during the course of his 34, completed his 1,000 runs in the calendar year 2008 - 1002 at an average of 77.07, including three centuries and two fifties in only eight Tests. He is the second batsman to accomplish the feat this year. Graeme Smith [Images] (South Africa [Images]) has made 1179 runs at an average of 69.35 in 11 Tests.
# Gautam Gambhir [Images] has completed 1,000 runs in Test Cricket - 1002 runs at an average of 37.11 in 17 Tests, including one century and six fifties.
