India captain Anil Kumble [Images] won the toss and opted to bat in the third and final Test against Sri Lanka [Images] in Colombo on Friday.
Both teams made one change from the second Test in Galle where India levelled the series 1-1 with a 170-run victory.
Sri Lanka called up uncapped pace bowler Dammika Prasad in place of Nuwan Kulasekera.
India replaced wicketkeeper Dinesh Karthik [Images] with Parthiv Patel.
