Board of Control for Cricket in India secretary Niranjan Shah said former captain Kapil Dev [Images] has been asked to make a choice between the chairman's job at the National Cricket Academy and the similar post he holds in the Executive Board of the rebel Indian Cricket League.

Talking to reporters in Guwahati on Wednesday, Shah said BCCI could not accept Kapil as head of both NCA and ICL.

Shah made it clear that there is no question of recognising the players registered with the ICL.

The BCCI secretary also announced that the Board would also lay stress on players from the eastern region -- particularly Assam, West Bengal and Orissa -- and launch talent hunts to include them in the national team.

Shah was in Guwahati to attend a function organised by the Assam Cricket Association.
