The long-awaited Players' Contracts will be implemented after the Indian team returns from the March 13-April 28 World Cup in the West Indies.

An agreement to that end was reached at a meeting between the Board of Control for Cricket in India and captain Rahul Dravid in Mumbai on Tuesday morning.

"After a meeting between the Board's officials and Rahul Dravid this morning, it is mutually agreed that the Players' Contract would be implemented after the return of the team from the ICC Cricket World Cup 2007," a statement from BCCI secretary Niranjan Shah said.

"At the meeting today the draft agreement was discussed in detail and the views of the Board and the players were exchanged," the statement added.

Also present at the meeting were BCCI vice-president Lalit Modi, former Board chief I S Bindra and BCCI's Chief Administrative Officer Ratnakar Shetty.

The contracts would be drawn in retrospective effect from October 1, 2006, as the earlier contract period ended on September 30, 2006.
