Sri Lankan team's Australian coach Tom Moody on Saturday said that the island side does not believe in "unnecessary experiments". This is in sharp contrast to his Aussie counterpart Greg Chappell. As the Indian team's Australian coach, Chappell has already done so many experiments with mixed results. And he still believes in continuing with the experiments even as the World Cup is just round the corner.

"I think the word experiment is overused. We don't experiment. Sri Lanka never experiments. We've fifteen players. Each one of those fifteen players can make up any combination in our side. And it's not an experiment. It's just the balance in the side which we feel will suit this wicket and this opposition. We don't like to experiment. We've got 100 per cent faith in all the fifteen players which we carry on the tour. We just adjust our combination according to conditions and oppositions," Moody said in Rajkot.

Moody strongly denied that the absence of Muttiah Muralitharan and Chaminda Vass has been a big blow to the Sri Lankan team on the tour of India.

"No, Sri Lanka isn't feeling any disappointed or pessimistic in the absence of Vass and Murali. Obviously, they've been our two world-class players for long. But it's a terrific opportunity for the youngsters to take the responsibility on their shoulders and prove themselves. They've done it before, too, when both Vass and Murali had been out of some matches. A couple of bowlers have stepped into Vass' shoes and done a decent job," he added.
