Malik should be fit for Zimbabwe ODIs

December 19, 2007 22:35 IST

Pakistan captain Shoaib Malik [Images] is expected to be fit to play in next month's one-dayers against Zimbabwe after recovering from an ankle injury.

Malik was hurt playing soccer during the recent tour of India and missed the last two drawn Tests in Kolkata and Bangalore.

"Fresh MRI scans have showed his injury has healed satisfactorily and his plaster will be taken off in a week's time. He should be available to play against Zimbabwe," a Pakistan Cricket Board spokesman told Reuters on Wednesday.

Pakistan face Zimbabwe in Hyderabad on Jan. 26, the first in a series of five one-day internationals.
