Pace bowler Ryan Sidebottom will miss England's [Images] first match of the one-day series against India in Southampton on Tuesday because of injury, the England and Wales Cricket Board said on Monday.

Sidebottom is still receiving treatment for a side injury he suffered during the third and final Test against India, which ended in a draw a week ago and ensured the visiting side won that series 1-0.

The ECB said in a statement that no replacement had been called up but they would consider one if Sidebottom continued to be unavailable later in the seven-match series.

Sidebottom is part of the England squad for the Twenty20 World Cup in South Africa next month.
