Pakistan team manager Zaheer Abbas says he has no regrets about being replaced as manager of the team for the ICC [Images] Champions Trophy, in India, from October 7.

"I think the Board has a policy of changing the manager for each series. It is not surprising for me," the former Test batsman said.

Zaheer was replaced by another former Test player, Talat Ali, on Tuesday, a move strongly criticised by Pakistan great Javed Miandad.

The general impression on Zaheer's removal is that the PCB wanted to bring in someone who could act with more authority following the Oval Test fiasco.

But, Zaheer claimed that he performed his duty well during the tour of England [Images].

"I am satisfied with the way I fulfilled my responsibilities on the England tour. My main job was to interact and keep in touch with the media, which I think was done creditably," he said.

"I think the Pakistan team has never enjoyed such good coverage in the English media as they did on this tour," he added.

Zaheer, known as a non-controversial figure and highly respected in Pakistan cricket, said the rest of the cricket issues were related to the captain and coach.

"When I was asked for my opinion I gave my inputs, otherwise it was not my job to interfere in cricketing matters. I was there to look after administrative things and the media," he said.

Zaheer, who was also team manager during Pakistan's tour of Sri Lanka [Images] earlier this year, is due to appear as a witness at the International Cricket Council disciplinary hearing, on September 27 and 28 in London [Images], in which captain Inzamam-ul Haq faces charges of ball-tampering and bringing the game into disrepute.

Zaheer said he is prepared for the hearing and would go by the PCB's stand.
