Bangladesh chalked up their highest total in one-day internationals, hitting 301 for seven in a 131-run victory over Kenya on Friday.

The home team's decision to bat first in the opening game of the four-match series was vindicated when Shahriar Nafees scored 91, Aftab Ahmed 62 and Mashrafe Mortaza [Images] raced to 44 not out off only 16 balls.

Bangladesh also posted their best win, in terms of runs, when Kenya were all out for 170 in 48.1 overs. Sayed Rasel took three wickets for 31.

Bangladesh's previous highest was 272 for eight in 50 overs against Zimbabwe in Harare in 2001.

Their previous highest margin, 62 runs, was against Pakistan in 1999.
