The Marketing Committee of Cricket Board on Monday said it plans to have a production house that would ensure generate funds through media rights.

"The emphasis of the marketing committee was to raise revenue for the ruling body and one of our plans is to have a production house for the BCCI that would generate funds through media rights," Committee chairman Lalit Modi said.

"We are looking at a minimum of USD 350 million for all media rights," he explained adding that the tender process is likely to be finalised by the February 9 or 10.

Modi added that as host broadcaster, the BCCI would hire a production house to produce the feed and there would be clauses to qualify that would include basic requirements.

"For example, the production house would have to have complete experience before applying. This also would include multilingual radio broadcasts," he said.

Modi said, owing to the marketing committee's latest strategy, domestic cricket would be one of the biggest beneficiaries.

"At the moment, there are zero days of live telecast of domestic cricket. But soon we will be having 72 live matches in domestic cricket from day one, he said adding that, "this, I am sure, would delight the players who in turn would strive to enhance their performances".

Modi revealed that the BCCI has decided to promote and develop the game at the inter-school, inter-university and inter-city levels and huge investments would be made at this level.

Modi also said that the title sponsorship of the Indian team will expire this year and the tenders would be out by March. "It will all be transparent," he said.

Joining Modi at the press conference was I.S. Bindra who said India would be involved in some 50 Tests and 130 one-day internationals in the next four years.

Bindra said the BCCI was in the process of fine-tuning the calendar with a few changes likely to be made.

"We will confirm the countries coming to India since we do not want to leave anything to chance," he explained.

Bindra added that India-Australia series was finalised with Australia due to arrive here in October 2007, 2008 and 2009.

It has been divided into three stages with seven ODIs to be played in 2007, four Tests in 2008 and seven or eight ODIs in 2009 depending on schedules, he said adding that India will tour Australia to play four Tests in 2007 and 11 ODIs in 2008.

In addition, India will also play England [Images] at home in 2009.

He said the BCCI and the Pakistan Cricket Board also have agreed to hold bilateral tours with the intention of taking the game from continent to continent where there is large population base. "The idea is to spread the game," Bindra said.
